Hoshmand Samir Murshid, musician and a composer was born the 21st of February, 2004 in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq. He's mainly a classical double bass player and is currently studying diploma at the Fine Arts Institute of Sulaymaniyah - Music Department and has been a member in a number of different orchestras and ensembles, most notably, the Sulaymaniyah Symphony Orchestra.

Despite not having much of experience in composition, he has written works for different types of chamber groups, orchestras and a variety of instruments.
